Advisory – Government of Guyana considering forms of assistance it can provide to those affected by Hurricane Irma

10 Sep

In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma and its devastating consequences in the Caribbean islands, including on Guyanese in the affected areas, the Government of Guyana has been considering the forms of assistance it can provide.

Due to the extensive damage to infrastructure, in particular the communications systems in those areas, it is still difficult to assess the extent of the damage in many places.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be working assiduously to establish contact where possible and secure needed information from the locations that have suffered the devastating impact of the hurricane.

Please continue to monitor this website for updates.

**Parents of students based in Cuba, as well as the public, will be advised on their situation shortly.
