We make this statement on behalf of the following members of the Security Council, as well as incoming members, that are State Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC): Denmark, Ecuador, France, Greece, Guyana, Malta, Panama, the Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, and our own countries, Japan and Switzerland.

We, the Security Council signatories of the Shared Commitments on Women and Peace and Security (WPS) – Ecuador, France, Guyana, Japan, Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and my own country, Malta – reaffirm our commitment to fully and meaningfully integrate the WPS agenda into all aspects of our work, and to amplify and support the crucial work of women peacebuilders and human rights defenders.
CARICOM Ministerial Caucus Preparatory to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Thirteenth Ministerial Conference (MC 13)
The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, chaired the CARICOM Ministerial Caucus Preparatory to the WTO Thirteenth Ministerial Conference (MC 13). The Ministerial Caucus was convened by the CARICOM Secretariat and chaired by Guyana in its capacity as CARICOM lead country and Coordinator on WTO matters.
Guyana's Ambassador to Venezuela, Dr. Richard Van West-Charles, officially began his diplomatic duties on Friday, February 2nd, 2024. He presented his credentials to Venezuela's Foreign Minister, Yvan Gil, in a formal ceremony.
Minister Gil and Ambassador Van West-Charles engaged in cordial discussions. Ambassador Van West-Charles affirmed the imperative of peace and cooperation as guiding principles for the relations between Guyana and Venezuela.
In this regard, he committed to working during his tenure to pursue Guyana’s interests in exploring the potential for collaboration in areas that would provide an opportunity for the neighbouring countries to develop a programme of cooperation for the mutual benefit of both peoples.

We, the Security Council signatories of Shared Commitments for the principles of Women, Peace, and Security—Ecuador, France, Japan, Malta, Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and my own country Guyana —reaffirm our strong commitment to advancing the rights and interests of women and girls in Afghanistan.
2. Today, the Security Council will receive updates on the Secretary General’s meeting in Doha, including on planned consultations towards the appointment of a Special Envoy.

The situation of women and girls in Sudan
1. We, the eleven Security Council signatories of the Statement of Shared Commitments for the principles of Women, Peace, and Security — Ecuador, Guyana, Japan, Malta, the Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and my own country France — have come together to express our deepest concerns regarding the situation of women and girls in Sudan.
